Job Description:

 

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Housekeeper to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of our retreat house. The Housekeeper will ensure that guest accommodations, common areas, and facilities are kept in pristine condition, providing a comfortable and welcoming environment for all visitors. The ideal candidate must demonstrate honesty, reliability, attention to detail, and a positive attitude in supporting a peaceful retreat experience.

 

Job Responsibilities:


  • Cleaning & Maintenance: Perform daily cleaning of guest rooms, bathrooms, dining areas, lounges, and other communal spaces, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces.

  • Laundry Services: Handle laundry duties, including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens, towels, and guest clothing as needed.

  • Supply Management: Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, toiletries, and linens; notify management when supplies are low.

  • Facility Upkeep: Report any maintenance issues or damages to management promptly; assist with minor repairs if trained.

  • Health & Safety: Follow safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff.

  • Guest Assistance: Respond courteously to guest requests related to cleanliness or amenities.

  • Organization: Keep storage areas and cleaning carts organized and stocked.

  • Adherence to Protocols: Follow all retreat house policies and procedures, including COVID-19 and other health-related safety protocols if applicable.

  • Other Duties: Assist with special cleaning projects or setup for events and retreats as needed.

 

 

Job Specification:

 

Qualifications:


  • Prior experience in housekeeping, janitorial services, or a related role preferred.

  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and safety procedures.

  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks.

  • Good physical stamina and ability to perform manual tasks.

  • Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.

  • Friendly and professional demeanor with good communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays as required.


Education & Experience:


  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Experience working in hospitality, guest services, or a retreat setting is advantageous.
