NDMU Strengthens International Partnership through Teacher Enrichment Program in Thailand

Notre Dame of Marbel University (NDMU), through its continuing international collaboration with the Marist Learning Center (MLC) in Thailand, successfully conducted the Enrichment Session with MLC Thailand Teachers on July 11, 2026, at the Marist Learning Center.

This professional development program brought together Burmese and Thai teachers of the Marist Learning Center for a series of learning sessions designed to strengthen instructional competence, classroom management, and the development of creative and contextualized learning materials.
The training was facilitated by a multidisciplinary team of faculty members and academic leaders from NDMU namely Dr. Skezeer John B. Paz, faculty member of the Natural Science Department, College of Arts and Sciences; Engr. Rolly S. Tambe, Dean of the College of Engineering, Architecture and Computing; Mr. Christian Dave S. Ignacio, faculty member of the Physical Education Department, College of Education; and Mr. Angelo M. Estaniel, faculty member of the Social Work Department, College of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Wilter C. Friales, Vice President for External Affairs served as the overall facilitator of the program.
The enrichment session featured interactive discussions on Effective Teaching Strategies for Today's Learners, Positive Classroom Management for Student Engagement, and Preparing Creative and Contextualized Learning Materials. The program concluded with an open forum and sharing of best practices, allowing participants to exchange ideas, reflect on their classroom experiences, and explore practical approaches to enhancing student learning.
The activity forms part of the ongoing collaboration and partnership between Notre Dame of Marbel University and the Marist Learning Center, reflecting the shared commitment of both institutions to advancing quality Marist education through faculty development, international collaboration, and the exchange of educational expertise.
At the conclusion of the program, Br. Ismael Valls Pujol, Director of the Marist Learning Center, expressed his sincere appreciation to the NDMU delegation for conducting a meaningful and practical enrichment session. He commended the relevance of the topics, the expertise of the facilitators, and the positive outcomes of the training, emphasizing that the knowledge and strategies shared would greatly benefit the Burmese and Thai teachers in their day-to-day classroom practice.
The successful conduct of the enrichment session further strengthens the growing partnership between NDMU and MLC and highlights the University's commitment to internationalization through academic cooperation, faculty engagement, and the promotion of quality education across borders.
