NDMU Faculty Advance Statistical Research Skills Through DOST-NRCP RD Lead Program P RD Lead Program

Notre Dame of Marbel University (NDMU) faculty are advancing their research and development capabilities through a two-day capacity-building program, September 3-4, 2026, under the Research and Development Leadership (RDLead) Program of the Department of Science and Technology–National Research Council of the Philippines (DOST-NRCP), with Engr. Febus Reidj G. Cruz as the RD Leader.

The training gathered 39 faculty researchers from across NDMU, including 26 from the College of Engineering, Architecture and Computing (CEAC), seven from College of Business, Governance and Accounting (CBGA), two from College of Health Science (CHS), three from College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), and one from College of Education (CED).

The initiative focuses on strengthening faculty’s competencies in quantitative analysis, data processing, and artificial intelligence (AI), which are key skills in advancing innovative and interdisciplinary research.

The first day features a training on statistical tools using MATLAB to support faculty researchers from various disciplines in transforming quantitative data into meaningful insights. The second day focuses on artificial intelligence using Python, introducing faculty to algorithms, machine learning models, and other AI frameworks.

The program shows DOST-NRCP’s support for NDMU’s efforts to foster interdisciplinary research and innovation that respond to the needs of SOCCSKSARGEN and the nation.
