Notre Dame of Marbel University (NDMU) played a key role in organizing and facilitating the opening program of the 23rd Marist General Chapter, led by University President Br. Paterno S. Corpus, FMS, alongside other NDMU administrators, including Dr. Joan Palma, VP for Academic Affairs; Atty. Rene M. Barrion, VP for Administration; Mr. Kenneth Anino, CPA, the Comptroller; Miss Elma Rafil, Human Resource Officer; and Mrs. Liza Aliligay and Mrs. Annaliza Cuarisma, representing the non-teaching personnel.

Key highlights included welcome messages from Br. Allan de Castro, FMS, Provincial Superior of the Marist East Asia Province, and Br. Ernesto Sanchez, FMS, Superior General of the Marist Brothers, while Mr. Yap Han Hoe, representing the Marist Laity, delivered a message. The opening of the General Chapter was formally declared by Br. Allan de Castro, FMS. A symbolic highlight of the program was the imposition of lei and flowers to the capitulants, which represented welcome and honor as a gesture of respect, new beginnings, symbolizing growth and renewal, and appreciation for the capitulants’ dedication and service. The program concluded with lunch from 12:00 to 1:00 PM.

The program was directed by Dr. Wilter C. Friales, NDMU-OSA Director, assisted by Dr. Eliseo Villaganas and the SSG representatives, including Carlos Misperos and Emmanuel Nemenio, who served as the technical staff during the program.

Dr. Ma. Magdalena Cobrador, Dean of the College of Education, served as the master of ceremonies.

Their active participation underscored the University’s strong commitment to the Marist mission of education, service, and faith.
