The 23rd General Chapter of the Marist Institute formally opened in Tagaytay City, Philippines, bringing together capitulants from different Provinces of the Global Marist family, along with invited guests including Marist Brothers, lay partners, administrators, and representatives from various Marist schools and non-Marist ministries.
Considered the Institute’s highest decision-making body, the General Chapter, held every eight years, entrusts capitulants with the responsibility of evaluating the Marist mission, discerning pressing realities, and setting the vision and priorities that will guide the global Marist family in the years ahead.
The opening program welcomed participants through prayers, cultural performances, and messages of fraternity, symbolizing the diversity and unity of the Marist world. Notre Dame of Marbel University (NDMU) also sent representatives to the opening, expressing its solidarity with the Marist family.
The Chapter now enters a period of prayer, dialogue, and discernment, with capitulants dedicating themselves to decisions that will shape the Institute’s mission and direction for the future.
