Notre Dame of Marbel University (NDMU) has formally partnered with the Commission on Population and Development (PopCom) to launch a research project addressing the growing concern of teenage pregnancy. The partnership was sealed through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing, spearheaded by NDMU President Bro. Paterno Corpus and implementation by the Research and Publication Center Director Sheila B. Roma.
Through this collaboration, NDMU will serve as a key academic partner in conducting comprehensive research aimed at understanding the root causes, risk factors, and social implications of teenage pregnancy. The findings are expected to guide evidence-based programs, policies, and interventions that will benefit local communities and contribute to national development efforts.
PopCom emphasized the importance of working with academic institutions like NDMU to ensure that research outputs are not only data-driven but also grounded in social responsibility and community engagement. Meanwhile, NDMU reaffirmed its commitment to advancing research that addresses pressing social issues, particularly those that affect the youth sector.
This partnership underscores the shared vision of both institutions: to protect the welfare of young people, promote responsible decision-making, and contribute to building a healthier, more empowered generation.
