A student from Notre Dame of Marbel University (NDMU) emerged as the champion in the 29th Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) Regional Finals, held at Mapa Hall, PSA Region 12 Building, Koronadal City.

Junnylle Czar Montaño, a BS Medical Technology student, bested contestants from across SOCCSKSARGEN to secure the regional championship title. Montaño’s outstanding performance earned him the honor of representing Region 12 in the upcoming National Championship set to take place in Metro Manila on December 10.

Another NDMU contender, Cillian James Bernardo, a BS Electrical Engineering student, also made a strong showing by finishing as 5th Runner-Up in the competition.

Both Montaño and Bernardo proudly represented the province of South Cotabato, showcasing the academic excellence and analytical prowess of NDMU students.

The team was coached by Dr. Skezeer John Paz, whose mentorship and guidance were key in preparing the contestants for the rigorous statistical challenges of the quiz.

The Regional Finals concluded with NDMU clinching the overall championship, followed by Mindanao State University – General Santos (MSU Gensan) as 1st Runner-Up, and the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) as 2nd Runner-Up.

The Philippine Statistics Quiz, organized annually by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), aims to promote statistical literacy and appreciation among college freshmen across the country.
