In a significant step toward advancing academic excellence and global engagement, seventeen PhD Educational Management students, six faculty members, and the Graduate School Dean of Notre Dame of Marbel University (NDMU) conducted a benchmark visit to Multimedia University (MMU) in Cyberjaya, Malaysia in April 15, 2026 as part of its International Educational Exposure Program (IEEP). The delegation, led by Dr. Reyes, Dean of the Graduate School, and coordinated by Faculty In-Charge Dr. Noemi B. Silva, explored MMU’s curriculum, teaching-learning policies and practices, research culture, and world-class facilities.

The NDMU delegation was warmly received by Angeline Li Wah Thong, Deputy Director of International Collaboration and Engagement at MMU. The visit began with a traditional Malaysian breakfast, setting a collegial and culturally rich tone for the day’s activities. This was followed by a formal pictorial and an engaging meeting with administrators and lecturers from the Faculty of Management (FoM).

Dr. Kwan Jing Hui, Deputy Dean for Post Graduate Studies and Collaborations of FoM, delivered the welcome address and provided an informative overview of MMU’s impressive profile. MMU operates two campuses—a sprawling 200-hectare campus in Cyberjaya and a 70-hectare campus in Melaka—and hosts 18,000 students, including 2,400 international students from 85 countries. With 10 faculties spanning 6 disciplines and 97 academic programmes, MMU has produced over 80,000 graduates since its establishment, boasting a remarkable 99.5% employability rate.

Dr. Hasni Mohd Hanari, Deputy Dean for Academic and International Relations, presented the undergraduate programme curricula, while Dr. Sellywati Mohd Faizal discussed the postgraduate curricula in detail. These presentations sparked lively discussions, with NDMU faculty and PhD students actively raising questions and exchanging insights on pedagogical practices, research directions, and programme design.

As a gesture of goodwill and gratitude, Dr. Reyes and Dr. Silva formally presented tokens of appreciation from NDMU to the MMU administrators in attendance—a symbolic affirmation of the growing partnership between the two institutions. The academic exchange was capped off with a guided tour of MMU’s modern facilities, offering the NDMU delegation a firsthand look at the infrastructure that supports one of Malaysia’s leading private universities.
This benchmark visit reflects NDMU’s commitment to continuous improvement and internationalization, as the institution looks to integrate global best practices into its own academic programmes and research culture. The experiences and knowledge gained from MMU are expected to inform and enrich the ongoing development of NDMU’s Graduate School and its PhD in Educational Management programme.
