NDMU and AboitizPower Distribution Group Strengthen Academic–Industry Partnership Through Engineering Scholarship Dialogue

On December 16, 2025, Notre Dame of Marbel University (NDMU) and the AboitizPower Distribution Group convened for a strategic meeting aimed at strengthening collaboration in support of engineering education and industry readiness. The engagement focused on the AboitizPower Distribution Group Engineering Scholarship Program, as highlighted in the presentation delivered during the meeting.


Held at the SMC Conference Room at NDMU in Koronadal City, South Cotabato, the meeting served as a platform for dialogue on how academic institutions and industry partners can work together to develop future-ready engineers equipped with both technical competence and professional values aligned with the needs of the power distribution sector.


The NDMU delegation was led by Dr. Wilter Friales, Director of the Office of Quality Assurance, Admissions, Promotions, and Scholarships, who emphasized the University’s commitment to providing accessible and high-quality education through strong external partnerships. Joining him were Engr. Rolly Tambe, MSCE, Dean of the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Computing; Engr. Layanth Sorzano, MEP-EE, Program Coordinator of the Electrical, Electronics, and Computer Engineering Department; and Engr. Elmer Claveria, MIM, MIP, Senior Faculty member of the Electrical Engineering Program. Together, the NDMU team underscored the importance of aligning academic programs with industry standards and emerging workforce demands.
