Notre Dame of Marbel University (NDMU) continues to expand its commitment to accessible and transformative education as it officially became one of the partner higher education institutions of the Development Bank of the Philippines under the DBP Integrated Scholastic Program for Inclusive and Responsive Education (INSPIRE).

The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing ceremony was successfully held on May 21, 2026 at the Bulwagan ng Diwang Pilipino, Penthouse, DBP Head Office in Makati City. The event gathered representatives from selected higher education institutions across the country that were granted support under the DBP INSPIRE Program.
The ceremony was spearheaded by DBP President and Chief Executive Officer Michael O. De Jesus together with DBP Chairman Philip G. Lo, affirming the bank’s commitment to strengthening educational opportunities and supporting the development of future professionals in the Philippines.
Representing NDMU during the MOA signing were University President Br. Paterno S. Corpus, FMS and Dr. Wilter C. Friales, the QUAPS Director. Their participation highlighted the university’s continuing efforts to widen access to quality education, particularly in teacher education and student support initiatives.
Through the DBP INSPIRE Program, NDMU was granted forty-five (45) scholarship slots intended for students enrolling in the university’s Education programs. The scholarship initiative aims to provide meaningful financial assistance to deserving students while helping strengthen the country’s pool of future educators.
The DBP INSPIRE scholarship includes an Endowment Fund that covers the total cost of tuition fees for all year levels of the entire course or program. In addition, the Student Support Fund provides assistance for other school-related expenses such as miscellaneous fees, school materials, apprenticeship and residency training costs, as well as expenses related to review courses and similar academic requirements.
NDMU’s inclusion among the eleven (11) higher education institutions selected nationwide reflects the university’s credibility, commitment to academic excellence, and dedication to forming competent and socially responsive educators. The partnership also reinforces the university’s mission of making quality education more inclusive and accessible to students who aspire to become future builders of the nation.
The successful MOA signing marks another milestone for NDMU as it continues to strengthen institutional partnerships that support student development, educational access, and nation-building through transformative education.
