Team South Cotabato–Myanmar Clinches First Place in CHED XII Get to Know ASEAN Video Competition
KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — Team South Cotabato–Myanmar emerged as the Champion in the CHED XII Get to Know ASEAN Video Competition during the ASEAN Month Celebration 2026 Culmination Program organized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office XII.
The competition brought together participating higher education institutions from across SOCCSKSARGEN, which were grouped and assigned different ASEAN member states—excluding the Philippines—to represent through promotional videos. Each team was tasked with showcasing the culture, heritage, traditions, and unique identity of its assigned country while promoting ASEAN awareness and regional appreciation.
Representing Myanmar, Team South Cotabato produced a compelling promotional video that highlighted the country's rich cultural heritage, educational landscape, artistic traditions, and enduring spirit. Through creative storytelling and engaging visual presentation, the entry successfully captured the essence of Myanmar and its place within the ASEAN community.

Notre Dame of Marbel University served as the lead institution in the conceptualization, production, and coordination of the Myanmar promotional video entry.
The project featured the talents and creativity of student contributors Jade Lawrence Ticar, Janella Faith Panaguiton, Joseph Daniel Cobrador, Krizna Zynne Camillo, John Xavier Calar, and Sophia Anne Jaena Leonud of NDMU, together with Amir Daniel Suerte of Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Colleges–Marbel.
Project coordination and production support were provided by Joemarie Bayo Doming of Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Colleges–Marbel and Glorietta Mae Guisinga of the NDMU College of Law, together with NDMU personnel Franchesca Yllaine Guanga, RPm, Princess Grace Nachon, and Dr. Eliseo Villaganas.
Competing against nine other ASEAN country entries, Team South Cotabato–Myanmar distinguished itself through its cultural authenticity, creativity, and collaborative spirit. The championship reflects the commitment of participating institutions to fostering greater awareness and appreciation of ASEAN's diverse cultures while strengthening regional cooperation through education.
The achievement likewise highlights the power of inter-institutional collaboration in advancing internationalization initiatives and promoting meaningful engagement with the ASEAN community. Through this shared endeavor, Team South Cotabato–Myanmar successfully brought the story of Myanmar closer to audiences across the region and secured the competition's highest honor.
