BALI, INDONESIA — Dr. Wilter C. Friales, Professor and NDMU Administrator, serving as Director of Student Affairs (DSA) and Quality Assurance, Admissions, Promotions, and Scholarships (QUAPS) at Notre Dame of Marbel University (NDMU), was awarded the Overall Best Presentation during the 12th International Conference on Education 2026 (ICEDU 2026), held from March 26–28 in Bali, Indonesia.
Out of 385 presenters from 42 countries, the recognition underscores the exceptional quality and impact of Dr. Friales’ research. Dr. Friales received the award for his presentation titled “Reframing Teenage Pregnancy in Schools: Institutional Perspectives, Challenges, and Adaptive Responses in the Philippine Context,” co-authored with Mrs. Sheila B. Roma and Dr. Loveleigh G. Quemado.
His study explored how educational institutions address teenage pregnancy, highlighting institutional perspectives, the challenges schools face, and adaptive strategies implemented to support students within the Philippine educational framework.
The Overall Best Presentation Award is among the conference’s most prestigious honors, recognizing research that demonstrates scholarly excellence, relevance, and meaningful contribution to the international education community.
