Tagaytay, Philippines | September 30, 2025 — In a moment filled with solemnity, unity, and hope, Brother Peter Carroll, from the Star of the Sea Province, has been elected the new Superior General of the Marist Brothers Institute during the 23rd General Chapter, currently being held in Tagaytay, Philippines.
This historic decision marks a defining moment for the global Marist family, as capitulants, delegates from across the world, gathered in an atmosphere of prayer, discernment, and fraternity to listen to the Spirit and choose the Brother who will lead the Institute in the coming years.
The election ceremony, held on September 30, 2025, reflected the deep sense of mission and communion that lies at the heart of the Marist vocation. Brother Peter, who belongs to the Star of the Sea Province, encompassing Australia and parts of Asia, has long been recognized for his deep spirituality, leadership, and dedication to the Marist mission. With years of experience in both local and international roles, he brings a pastoral heart and global perspective to his new role as 9th Superior General of the Marist Institute.
