NDMU Student-Entrepreneurs Turn Business Concepts into Reality at CBALIGYAANAY 2026

KORONADAL CITY — Student-entrepreneurs from the Business Administration and Hospitality Management Departments of Notre Dame of Marbel University (NDMU) brought their business ideas to life during CBALIGYAANAY 2026: Student-Entrepreneurs Bazaar, held from September 26 to 30, 2026, in line with the City of Koronadal Charter Anniversary and Negosyo Festival.

The event formally opened with an opening prayer, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, South Cotabato Hymn, Martsa ng Lungsod ng Koronadal, and the NDMU Hymn. The program gathered students, faculty members, university administrators, and partners from the government and business sectors in support of entrepreneurial education and innovation.
In her opening remarks, Michelle F. Capistrano, Dean of the College of Business,
Governance, and Accountancy, emphasized the importance of experiential learning in developing future entrepreneurs and business leaders. She encouraged students to maximize the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in an actual business setting and to embrace the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship.
Messages of support were delivered by Bro. Paterno S. Corpuz, FMS, University President of NDMU; Elbert G. Capecio, Provincial Director of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)–South Cotabato; and Hon. Erlinda P. Araquil, Mayor of the City of Koronadal. The speakers highlighted the vital role of entrepreneurship in driving economic growth, fostering innovation, and creating opportunities for communities. They also commended the students for their initiative, creativity, and willingness to engage in real-world business experiences.
A highlight of the opening program was the Presentation of Businesses for CBALIGYAANAY 2026, where participating student groups introduced their products, services, and business concepts. The presentation showcased the creativity and entrepreneurial mindset of the students as they prepared to engage customers and operate their respective enterprises throughout the duration of the bazaar.
The five-day bazaar served as a venue for students enrolled in Entrepreneurial Management subjects to apply their knowledge and skills in actual business operations. Through the activity, students conceptualized products, developed business plans, and managed their own stalls, gaining firsthand experience in entrepreneurship and enterprise management.
As a culminating experiential learning activity, CBALIGYAANAY 2026 challenged students to undertake key entrepreneurial functions, including product development, marketing, financial management, production, and customer relations. Participants translated classroom theories into practical business experiences while responding to real market demands and customer feedback.
The event forms part of the Entrepreneurial Management course offered to students pursuing Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management. The course equips students with fundamental entrepreneurial competencies, emphasizing opportunity recognition, innovation, business planning, and enterprise development.
By participating in the citywide celebration and Negosyo Festival, students were exposed to a broader business environment that allowed them to interact with consumers, assess the viability of their products, and experience the realities of running a business. The activity also highlighted the socio-economic contributions of entrepreneurship and its role in fostering innovation and community development.
Through CBALIGYAANAY 2026, NDMU student-entrepreneurs demonstrated creativity, resilience, and business acumen, reinforcing the University's commitment to producing graduates who are equipped to become future entrepreneurs, innovators, and leaders in their respective fields.
