Students and faculty members from the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Computing embarked on an enriching cultural and academic journey during their Educational Tour in Thailand from April 27 to May 3, 2026. The delegation consisted of 60 students from the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE), Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (BSCpE), Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering (BSECE), Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS), and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) programs, accompanied by three faculty members and two tour agency coordinators, bringing the total number of participants to 65.

One of the memorable highlights of the international educational tour was the visit to the Nong Nooch Tropical Garden, a globally recognized botanical and cultural destination known for its breathtaking landscapes and artistic attractions. The garden immediately captivated the students through its vibrant scenery, expansive greenery, intricately arranged floral displays, and thematic landscapes inspired by different cultures and artistic traditions.
More than just a tourist destination, Nong Nooch Garden served as a meaningful venue for cultural immersion and experiential learning. The students witnessed how Thailand continues to preserve and celebrate its cultural heritage through traditional performances, Thai-inspired architectural elements, symbolic sculptures, and carefully maintained gardens. The experience allowed the participants to appreciate the richness of Southeast Asian culture while recognizing shared traditions and values among neighboring nations.
For the engineering and architecture students, the visit also became an opportunity to observe practical applications of landscape planning and structural design. The massive landscape development demonstrated effective site planning, elevation concepts, and aesthetic integration. Students particularly appreciated the carefully engineered walkways, elevated viewing decks, ornamental structures, and themed installations that showcased how functionality and beauty can coexist in landscape architecture and urban design.

The experience further highlighted the importance of sustainability, environmental appreciation, and creativity in infrastructure development. Through the visit, the students gained broader perspectives on how natural spaces can be transformed into educational, cultural, and tourism-oriented environments through innovation and careful planning.
The educational tour in Thailand continues to reflect the commitment of Notre Dame of Marbel University in providing students with international exposure and holistic learning opportunities that extend beyond the classroom. Through destinations such as Nong Nooch Garden, CEAC students were able to deepen their understanding of culture, design, engineering, and environmental appreciation while developing a more global perspective as future professionals.
