Opening Program of the Marist Educators Congress 2026 Commences at Habi Hotel and Convention Center, Hosted by Notre Dame of Marbel University

Koronadal City, April 15, 2026 — The Marist Educators Congress 2026 continued its first-day proceedings with the formal Opening Program held at the Habi Hotel and Convention Center, hosted by Notre Dame of Marbel University, bringing together Marist educators, leaders, and delegates in a shared celebration of mission, collaboration, and educational excellence.

The Opening Program showcased a series of cultural and symbolic presentations that highlighted the richness of Marist identity and unity among participating institutions. The program featured welcome performances, an opening salvo by the NDMU Kariktan Dance Troupe, and the ceremonial entrance of Marist symbols, including the Balangay, signifying the shared journey and mission of Marist educators.

Delegates from various Marist institutions were formally introduced, emphasizing the strengthening network and growing collaboration within the Marist educational community across different regions.

A selection of hymns, including the National Anthem, South Cotabato Hymn, Martsa ng Lungsod ng Koronadal, and the NDMU Hymn, were rendered by the NDMU Tambuli Singers and Marist Symphonic Band, creating a deeply rooted sense of pride, identity, and unity throughout the venue.
In his welcome message, Br. Paterno S. Corpus, FMS, President of Notre Dame of Marbel University, underscored the importance of Marist education in forming transformative educators and leaders anchored in faith, humility, and service.
Messages of inspiration were also delivered by key Marist leaders, including:

Br. Allan J. De Castro, FMS, Marist East Asia Province, through Br. Ernie Sentina, FMS (Provincial Councilor - Marist East Asia), who shared the provincial vision and direction of Marist education

Br. Arnel S. Alfanta, FMS, Chairperson of the Marist Education Council, who presented the program direction, objectives, and formally opened the congress proceedings
The program also formally introduced the keynote speaker, signaling the continuation of sessions aimed at strengthening Marist educational leadership, collaboration, and formation.
The Opening Program reaffirmed the core Marist values of humility, simplicity, and presence, setting a meaningful tone for the succeeding activities of the congress.
