Notre Dame of Marbel University Librarians and Institution Honored by SOCOLA for Professional Excellence and Academic Achievement

The librarians of Notre Dame of Marbel University (NDMU) were recently recognized for their dedication to professional growth and excellence in the field of library and information science during the 2026 Training-Workshop, General Assembly, and 40th Foundation Anniversary Celebration of the SOCSKSARGEN Librarians Association, Inc. (SOCOLA) held on July 16, 2026.

Honored during the event were College librarians Mrs. Marites I. Huqueriza, Mrs. Myra T. Morta, Mrs. Jennifer Tidula, Mrs. Destine M. Salvatierra, Mrs. Teodora L. Tuburan, Mrs. Pearl Joy P. Villanueva—and IBED librarians Mrs. Gerlie Mae V. Queroquero and Mrs. Maria Consuelo G. Reyes. The award recognized their significant professional milestones, particularly their successful completion of graduate studies, reflecting their commitment to lifelong learning, academic excellence, and continuous professional development.


The recognition highlights the librarians’ dedication to enhancing their competencies and advancing the quality of library and information services they provide to the NDMU community. Their achievements exemplify the University's commitment to cultivating a culture of scholarship, innovation, and service among its academic support professionals.


Adding to this distinction, Notre Dame of Marbel University was also presented with a Certificate of Recognition by SOCOLA in appreciation of its steadfast support and valuable partnership in advancing library and information science education in the region. The recognition underscores the University's contribution to the profession through its Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS) program, which continues to prepare competent, ethical, and service-oriented library and information professionals.
