KORONADAL CITY — Guided by the theme “Beyond the Classroom: Learning with Purpose, Serving with Heart, Creating Impact,” the College of Business, Governance, and Accountancy (CBGA) of Notre Dame of Marbel University (NDMU) formally launched its Business Administration Service-Learning Program on September 24, 2026, at the SMC Hall.

The Business Administration Service-Learning Program is an academic-community extension initiative established by NDMU through its Business Administration Department in formal collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)–South Cotabato. Designed to integrate classroom instruction with real-world business environments, the program creates a collaborative framework among the University, DTI, and local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), providing students with meaningful experiential learning opportunities while supporting community enterprise development.

The program commenced with an opening prayer led by Ms. Vana Faith Palabrica, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and the NDMU Hymn. Ms. Mary Jane Gorgonio, MBA, delivered the opening remarks, highlighting the value of partnerships in enriching student learning and fostering community impact. Messages of support from the College and DTI underscored the importance of academic-industry collaboration in empowering local entrepreneurs and preparing students for the realities of the business world.

Ms. Chimes Carrie Carreon presented the rationale of the initiative, emphasizing how service-learning bridges theory and practice through direct engagement with MSMEs. The program also introduced the College's microenterprise partners, led by Dr. Wilma A. Mercado, and recognized them through a certificate-awarding ceremony for their valuable role in supporting student learning and community development.

In her closing remarks, Dr. Aileen J. Rioja expressed gratitude to the partner enterprises and stakeholders who contributed to the program's launch. She reaffirmed the College's commitment to producing business professionals who are academically competent, socially responsible, and dedicated to creating positive change in their communities.
