Semestral final grades are based on the work done during the entire semester, not solely on the results of the final exams.
In both the midterm and the final exams, the grades are determined according to a fixed system followed by all the members of the faculty.
Each exam is 50% of the final grade. The other 50% is based on the quality of work done in the classroom, the participation in class activities, the out-of-class assignments regularly submitted, and the cooperation in class projects.
The grades have the following equivalents:
95% to 100% - Excellent
90% to 94% - Very Good
85% to 89% - Good
80% to 84% - Satisfactory
75% to 79% - Fair
The following marks may appear in the student's scholastic records:
F Failed, if the student received a grade below 75%.
Dr Dropped, if the student officially dropped the subject
NCA No credit due to absences
NA or F For not attending or Unofficial dropping
The final semestral mark is the average of the midterm and final grades.
An official Rating Slip is issued to each student at the end of each semester. Advisory grades are also mailed to the parents.
Parents or guardians are requested to examine the advisory grades and follow up the works of their sons and daughters. |
