Admission Policies and Procedures

The college admission program is contained in the Student's Hand Book. It is further reflected in brochures and the materials being printed and distributed to the different secondary schools during the school's yearly Information Dissemination Drive.

The Addmission Program is headed by one of the members of the College Admission Committee acting as the Chairman. Others members include the College Deans, the Director of the Student Services, the University Registrar and a Faculty Representative. The school utilizes effective tools and devices in the seletion and admission of the students.

The following steps are taken in the admission and retention of the students to the Notre Dame of Marbel University:

1. Inquiries of the about admission of the students to the University are channelled through the Guidance and Testing Center. Incoming freshmen are then requested to show the required documents as indicated in the admission requirements of the Guidance Councilor. Compliance of the requirements allow the canidate to be given a "Recommendation for Enrollment" slip.

On the other hand, the admission of the transferees, cross-enrollees and ther returning students are under the responsibility of the respective College Deans. Requirements are presented to them. Compliance of the requirements entitled them to take the entrance examination permit forwarded to the Testing Center.

Students dishonorably dismissed and are seeking readmission are referred back to the Admission Committee for deliberation prior to readmission or refusal.

2. Incoming students are screened using different cut-off scores in the placement examinations. Standardized tools are used as instruments in the selection and placement of the students. Added to it is an achivement test designed by the Guidance and Testing Center and some selected faculty members. Incoming students are subjected to interview by the Guidance Councilor in behalf of the Admission Officer. The ultimate decision concerning admission and retention of the students rest on the College Deans.
