“And Mary said:

My soul exalts the Lord

And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior,” Luke 1:46-47

Three members of the Marist Brothers from the East Asia Province affirmed their mission through the Rite of Perpetual Profession of Vows on October 24, 2018 at Br. Renato Cruz Convention Hall, Notre Dame of Marbel University.

Br. Fred Salubre, FMS of Archdiocese of Malaybalay, Br. Jeffrey Guino-o, FMS of Diocese of Tagum, and Br. Adrian Mana-ay, FMS of Archdiocese of Cotabato professed their vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience in front of the Provincial of East Asia Br. Robert Teoh, FMS, their families and fellow Marist Brothers, and guests.

Br. Fred is presently assigned in Malutok, Palawan, while Br. Jeffrey is a faculty member of the Notre Dame of Dadiangas University. Br. Adrian’s mission is in Sebu Sarawak, East Malaysia as an English teacher of Catholic High School.

The three Marist Brothers each received a perpetual cross, and a letter from Br. Ernesto Sanchez, the Superior General of the Institute of the Marist Brothers of the Schools.

As Rev. Fr. Joel Aliligay presided over the Eucharistic celebration, he urged everyone to “sing true songs of hope and joy,” staying true to the Marist devotion. It is through singing that the religious can drive out fake singers and fake voices, said the reverend, more so that true joy has been evading in the context of the nation’s political and environmental conflicts.

Fr. Vincent Guino-o and Fr. Ronald Plomillo of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Seminary, Diocese of Marbel concelebrated the Eucharistic Mass.
