The Senior High School students of the Notre Dame of Marbel University proved to be competitive as they made NDMU proud with their numerous achievements in different competitions during the 1st semester of this school year.
Isam Benedict Dimacutac won first place in the Individual Quiz Bowl during the Math Olympics held at Koronadal National Comprehensive High School last September 29, 2016. Likewise, Meevhen Dela Cruz, Janela Marielle Romano, and Weianne Bosabica placed second in Team Quiz Bowl in the same competition. Dimacutac and Dela Cruz, together with Krystlenn Ivany Quemado, also joined the qualifying round for the Philippine Mathematical Olympics held at the Ateneo de Davao University on October 22, 2016. Dimacutac qualified for the next round slated November 19 in the same school.
Moreover, the following senior high students grabbed several awards at the recently concluded Division
Schools Press Conference hosted by the Koronadal Central Elementary School I: Kristian Dominic Decolongon, 2nd
Place in Collaborative Publishing Filipino; Raul Posadas, Stephany Julao, Miky Shane Daniel Gindon, and Alexander
Augustus Diego, 2nd Place in Radio Broadcasting; Krystelenn Ivany Quemado, 3rd Place in Copyreading and
Headline Writing English; Erben Louis Labrador, 3rd Place in Collaborative Publishing English; Alicia Faye Soreta, 4th
Place in Copyreading Filipino; Janella Romano, 4th Place in Editorial Writing English; Fe Laurence Valente, 4th Place in
Editorial Cartooning; and Jeanel Pedrajas, 5th Place News Writing Science and Health. All of them are qualifiers for
the Regional Press Conference scheduled on November 30, 2016 at Tacurong City.
These awards are a testament to the hard work and dedication of these young Marists, with the guidance of their advisers and coaches. Congratulations!
