Dr. Wilter C. Friales brought honor to Notre Dame of Marbel University after winning Best Oral Presenter during the 2nd Asian Conference on Educational Development at Radisson Hotel, Brunei Darrusalam on June 12-13, 2019.

He discussed two research presentations on the conference, with both recognized as among the best in the event.

He first discussed his paper “A Case Study on the Impact and Sustainability of the KALAHI CIDSS-NCDDP Projects in the Municipality of Kiamba.”

The study revealed that even if the projects had manifested a significant impact, “there is still a need to intensify the strategies and process to ensure long-lasting sustainable projects in the community.”

His other research presentation is titled “The Shared Mission: A Phenomenological Study on the Marist-Lay Partnership.”

Employing a developmental research sequence methodology framework, he found out that collaboration is hinged on the shared mission of the lay and the Marist Brothers, eventually leading to a good relationship and partnership in the whole institution.

With papers dealing with diverse topics such as social sciences, institutional research, education, action research, and science and technology, the conference embodied the theme “Role of Research in Nation Building.”

It also featured a distinguished set of plenary sessions from award-winning researchers Veneracion G. Cabana and Roel Palo Anicas.

The event was organized by the Philippine Association of Institutions for Research, Inc (PAIR), in cooperation with the Association of Scholarly Editors.
