Notre dame of Marbel University recognizes excellence in academic achievement. This is manifested in its scholarship programs given to deserving students namely Entrance Scholarship for incoming First year, and Dean’s List Scholarship for the upper years. Likewise, high school valedictorians and salutatorians are afforded respective tuition fee discounts upon presentation of necessary certifications from their principals/school administrations.
Other scholarships funded by Government and private benefactors are acknowledged by the Scholarship Office provided that a Memorandum of Agreement has been duly processed and approved by the University President.
The Guidance & Scholarship Center takes charge of facilitating Scholarship grants.
Institutional policy on Scholarship Administration, Admission, and Retention
Notre Dame of Marbel University observes the following standing policies in the administration, admission and retention of scholarship.
- Scholarships are officially recognized and accepted only after a Memorandum of Agreement shall have been entered into and signed by the benefactor and the president of the university.
- A Scholarship Coordinator is appointed by the President to manage the scholarship matters in the university Her responsibility includes information dissemination, acceptance of applications, facilitation of screening to be made and recommends the same to the committee for approval, monitoring and continuous follow-up of the scholarship grantees.
- A Committee on Scholarship is created to look over and assist the Scholarship Coordinator in making decision concerning implementation of duly recognized grants. This is composed of the Scholarship Coordinator, the Academic Vice President, the Treasurer, the Director of Student Aids, and the incumbent faculty president.
- Any student may avail of only one type of Scholarship at a time. In cases where he/she qualifies for two or more scholarships, whichever grant having a higher benefit shall be given unless otherwise opted by the grantee himself or herself.
- Admission and retention of scholarship grants are subject to the criteria set and spelled out in individual scholarship prior to its recognition.
