The University reserves the right to implement corrective measures in line with its aim to mold the total person. In this case, administrative penalties and sanctions stated in the Manual of Regulations for Private Schools will be upheld for the advantage of the student and of the academic community.
PROCEDURES FOR DISCIPLINARY ACTION
On Major Offenses:
- All offenses must be formally reported in writing to the Office of the Prefect of Discipline. Complaints must be signed by the offended party.
- The Prefect of Discipline, who acts as the Chairman of the Ad Hoc Disciplinary Committee, appoints the members of the Ad Hoc Disciplinary Committee composed of two administrators, two faculty members, and two student representatives.
- The Prefect of Discipline shall inform the student concerned of the complaint before the Ad Hoc Disciplinary committee meets.
- During the hearing, both the reported violator and the offended party shall present their statements and evidences.
- The sanctions recommended by the Ad Hoc Disciplinary Committee will be implemented if not appealed to the President within a period of ten days.
- All parties concerned will be informed of the decision in writing.
On Minor Offenses:
Cases of misbehavior or other disciplinary problems should be reported directly to the College Dean of the student in question.
In case the misbehavior or other disciplinary problems occur in the evening, the case should be reported to the Director of the Night Classes who will subject his/her recommendations to the College Dean of the student in question at the earliest possible time.
PENALTIES AND SANCTIONS
The University adopts the provision of the Manual of Regulations for Private Schools for disciplinary administrative sanctions, which may be imposed upon erring students:
- Dropping. The University reserves the right to drop or dismiss a student at any time who is found after due investigation, to have seriously violated the Rules and Regulations of the University.
- Suspension. A student is suspended from the school for a definite period of time not exceeding 20% of the prescribed school days for serious infraction of school rules and regulation. Absences incurred during the days of suspension are considered part of the allowable limit for absences.
- Expulsion. This is an extreme form of administrative sanction, which debars the student from all public and private schools. It requires the approval of the Commission on Higher Education.
OTHER PENALTIES
- Reprimand or admonition
- Failure in the subject or examination
- Disqualification from receiving graduation honors
- Denial of academic privileges or scholarship or grant-in-aids.
- Payment of actual damage inflicted.
- Other penalties as may be approved by the Ad Hoc Disciplinary Board.
